Bio

Dr. Omar Faruque obtained his Ph.D from the University of Alberta, Canada in 2008. Since then he has been working with the Center for Advanced Power Systems at Florida State University and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of FAMU-FSU College of Engineering.

Dr. Faruque's research focuses on the modeling, simulation and experimental validation of power systems components and their controllers. He uses real-time simulation techniques including Hardwar-In-the-Loop (HIL) for studying system interactions in the areas of FACTS, HVDC, electric ship technology, smart grid, renewable energy, and in other emerging areas in power engineering.
